Introduction to Outdoor Escape Gmunden and organisational information:

As already mentioned in the introduction, you need the app Actionbound. You can easily download these via the App Store or Google Play Store. 🛍️

If you have already decided on a Outdoor Escape Adventure on the website you can book it online and you will be sent a ticket code and instructions. You can then simply use this code to enter the Outdoor Escape using a smartphone.

There were three of us and one smartphone was enough. In our opinion, it is definitely possible with up to 8 people 👨‍👨‍👧👩‍👦👨‍👩‍👦mit using a single smartphone (with Outdoor Escape Gmunden - ENTFÜHRT!) playable.

✅ Cost of a ticket:

The cost of a ticket is € 39.90 (as of 06/03/2023). This price is per ticket and smartphone - regardless of how many players you have.

✅ Target group:

In this case, we categorise the target group very generally. Regardless of age and other interest factors, anyone who enjoys puzzles is well catered for. From young to old, as a family experience or a casual activity with friends - there's something for everyone. 🥳

✅ Technology for the Outdoor Escape Gmunden:

Basically, you need a smartphone with GPS, working speakers and an internet connection. The puzzles and video & sound clips are loaded online and in some places you are guided through the area with a 🧭 compass in the app.

✅ Difficulty:

In contrast to classic escape puzzles, we categorise this outdoor escape as a light in.

✅ Fitness and physical condition:

As you walk approx. 4 - 5 km from the starting point to the finish and back again 🚶‍♀️, a certain degree of mobility is required. The route is not demanding and can be completed by most people in 90 minutes.

ESCAPE! - The Outdoor Escape in Gmunden: The interactive scavenger hunt for everyone

As the name suggests, a person has been kidnapped and the hostage-taker wants to play a game with us. After the start of the outdoor escape, you are guided to the starting point at Rathausplatz in Gmunden (without the timer running) and only then do you officially confirm the start and the timer runs. Now you have 90 minutes and 13 puzzles to rescue the kidnapped person. 🕵️‍♂️

After an intro video, the scavenger hunt begins and your puzzle-solving skills are now required.

And then the puzzle fun begins! So as not to give too much away, I won't go into detail about the puzzles - but you will come across some beautiful places where you can take wonderful photos if you have time. At the bottom of the gallery you will find Photos of our course - ATTENTION SPOILER DANGER! ‼️⚠️

The puzzles are easily designed and very easy to solve. Children should particularly enjoy them 🧒 and you can see the beautiful Traunsee lake almost all the way through and can also enjoy the view of the mountain landscape in the background. You never get the impression that you're being left alone and the puzzles take you to the next point. If you get stuck, you also have the option of contacting the game masters via WhatsApp 💬 for help. A huge plus point at this point for the service - we didn't have to use it, so we can't rate it.

Our experience and conclusion about the Outdoor Escape in Gmunden

We played the Outdoor Escape in Gmunden on 05.03.2023. The weather was cloudy at 4°C, but we were always on the move and didn't get cold. In summer, of course, you have even more options, such as solving puzzles with an ice cream cone 🍦 in one hand and a smartphone 🤳 in the other. Regardless of the weather, the game can be played at any time of day and in any weather. There are no places that could be closed or impassable - so this has been very well thought out so that you can actually play it regardless of environmental factors.

There were three of us and we managed to solve the puzzle and reach the end of the treasure hunt in around an hour.

If you want to experience a different kind of family outing or spontaneously solve puzzles in a beautiful setting, then take a look at the various outdoor escape games and maybe you'll find the right one for you!

Contra ⛔️

My biggest criticism is actually the price. Regardless of the fun factor and the puzzle experience, the price of € 39.90 is very high. 💰 The scavenger hunt is in an app in which you can create and play such challenges for free. This is therefore not an in-house app and utilises the possibilities of a third-party provider. Of course, there is work and time behind it, which must be remunerated accordingly, and it must also be emphasised that the price is independent of the number of players.

The quality of the video clips and the soundtracks were not outstanding and not coherent. Unfortunately, the person to be rescued looked different in each video clip and I would have liked the sound quality of the various recordings to be a little more professional.

It was a great scavenger hunt and definitely a great way to pass the time. Compared to other activities and experiences, we would consider a price range of €10 to €12 to be reasonable.
