This time a short hike through the Dr. Vogelgesangklamm was on the agenda for me.
If you’re looking for a slightly smaller and family-friendly tour, you’ll be in the right place here. The fact that the cable cars in Austria are almost a cultural treasure is nothing new – all the more wonderful that you can enjoy them at almost any time of the year.
The entrance fees currently range from 4 to 7 € per person (children / adults).
Our goal was the Bosruckhütte hut, and we returned via a forest path.

The hike through the bird song valley
The hike leads over countless bridges, stairs, and bridges, making the tour something special. The ravine is not very long and we gain about 300 meters in altitude. We started right from the paid parking lot just before the entrance.
After a leisurely hour, you are usually already done and can have a bite to eat at the hut before heading back down.
For the return journey, we took the path through the forest.

How to get there and parking facilities for the Birdsong Cliff
We arrived by car – you can start the navigation directly below in the post by going to the Komoot tour and then selecting the „Arrival“ button. It will take you directly to the parking lot.
The parking lot is subject to a fee.
The gorge is also accessible by public transport. You can take the train to Spital am Pyhrn or the bus to the Spital am Pyhrn Stiftsplatz stop. From there, it is still about a 30-minute walk to the entrance to the gorge.

Eating options during the hike through the gorge
The Bosruck hut is currently closed for the winter until Easter Monday, but you can even order a vegetable-based warm meal and of course drinks if you request them. The view from the top over the fields towards Bosruck is by the way also breathtaking.
My conclusion about the Dr. Vogelgesangklamm
For me it was a great Friday afternoon outing. Even though the tour is a bit short, a hike through a canyon is always something special. I can only recommend it to families with children.
