Steinbach am Ziehberg is an area I haven't thought about in a long time and, honestly, it also appears quite unremarkable. However, there are many great peaks and hiking trails here that you absolutely must see. 😊
Steinbach am Ziehberg is now truly one of my most visited places. Whether it's Mittagstein, Schabenreitnerstein, Nackter Kalbling, Pfannstein, Herrentisch, Rauher Kalbling, Eiskogel, or many others – there's always something to discover here. You can already find many of these hikes on my blog.
This time we went to Beilstein – a small, great summit with a beautiful view. 🏞️
The descent is a bit creepy, as the forest is very dark and desolate. I did, however, only go back down after sunset. 😂

The hike up the Beilstein
The hike starts from the large car park marked as the starting point in the Komoot tour. From there, it goes directly onto a forest path that is very overgrown and little used. After about 45 to 60 minutes, you will reach the summit via forest roads and further forest sections, where you will be rewarded with a fantastic panoramic view. 🤩
Caution: There are many fallen trees on the path. Caution is advised here. ⚠️

The journey is very simple via the Vorchdorf motorway exit, then along the federal road to Steinbach am Ziehberg. You can park, for example, on Klammbergstraße by the sports field. You can start navigation directly to the starting point with the Komoot tour. You'll find the tour at the bottom of the post. 🚗

Places to stop for refreshments on the hike to the Beilstein
There are no refreshment stops on this hike. ⛰️ It's best to bring your own good snack and a nice coffee in a thermos flask, then you'll definitely be on the safe side. 🥪☕️
My conclusion about the hike
I went up for the sunset and can wholeheartedly recommend the hike. It’s not busy and the view is stunning. I’ll definitely be back here. 🤩
