Austria Comic Con - this was the ACC Comic Day in Wels

Small, fine and perfect for collectors and enthusiasts - the Austria Comic Con Comic Day as a 1-day event at the Wels Exhibition Centre on 4 September 2022

Almost every comic, anime, and manga fan in Austria is familiar with the name Austria Comic Con (ACC for short), organised by Con World Austria. It was precisely this organiser who offered fans a smaller event on 4th September, revolving around comics, merchandise, photo spots, and artists. 🦸🏻‍♀️

As announced by the ACC organiser, the in Comic Day held in Hall 8 as a small event for enthusiasts and fans.

What was there to see at the ACC Comic Day?

Small and inconspicuous? No! That certainly didn't apply to the side event of its bigger sibling, the Austria Comic Con, because it had a lot to offer.

While the overall area was many times smaller and the selection of traders and items was also smaller – as announced by the organiser – this simultaneously invited a cosy atmosphere in exhibition hall 8. Culinarily, visitors were also catered for with warm and sweet snacks 🥧 and drinks directly while browsing on the upper floor.

Exhibitors included, among others, artists well-known in the industry, such as Yunuei, ArtlandCats, caffecupcake, Tei, Keefsart & NYdrawings. 👨‍🎨

The trade fair was also characterised by great arcade machines from RS Pinball GmbH from Vöcklabruck Equipped with a joystick.

There were plenty of comics, trading cards and merchandise to marvel at and purchase. Fans could really let off steam here and invest their hard-earned savings.

Cosplayers were also welcome here again and you could see and photograph some great costumes and characters - if you asked politely.

My highlights of the ACC Comic Day in Wels

My personal highlights were definitely the exhibitors Star Wars Fanclub AT, K.I.T.T. Linz, Charity Heroes Austria - CHA & the Photopoint of Bumblebee from Transformers.

The girls and boys in my highlights live their hobby and passion through and through - and that's exactly what you notice. They captivate everyone with their enthusiasm and you feel like you're in a parallel world.

Tickets and prices 💰

Tickets could be purchased directly (and exclusively) on site at the entrance. Admission was free for everyone from around 16:30 - which was great, because the visibly enthusiastic visitors to the Wels folk festival were able to take a brief look at the world of comics at no extra cost.

Prices:

• Children under 10 years: Free admission
• Children and teenagers up to 17 years: € 5,-
• Adults from 18: € 10,-

I find the prices reasonable and quite alright. ✅

When will we meet again? ACC Austria Comic Con 2023 at the Wels Exhibition Centre

On 03 & 04 June 2023, the original Austria Comic Con will take place. It will once again be the 2-day home of many fans, exhibitors, artists, celebrities and enthusiasts.

Maybe we'll see each other in 2023?
