Scharnsteiner Spitze – a hike you can easily skip. 😂

For me, it went past the castle ruins in Scharnstein to the Scharnsteiner Spitze in early July.

Honestly, this hike was rather unnecessary. The path is consistently steep, strenuous, and without any views. If you start – as I did – from the castle ruins, there's a game trail up to the Scharnsteiner Spitze. While I'm glad to have ticked off the summit, I really can't recommend it if you're expecting nice views or a pleasant hike. There are much nicer summits in the area that you absolutely must see. 🤗

The hike to Scharnsteiner Spitze

Starting from the car park near the castle ruins, the first thing was to go up to the ruins. The ruins are really something special. They look great and the view is also quite nice. For anyone who hasn't been here yet: highly recommended! 🤩

The hike itself then went through the forest up to the Scharnsteiner Spitze. There is another summit near the ruin, which I overlooked, however. Once at the top, there isn't really a particularly special view, unfortunately. It was only worth it for the exercise and the workout. 💪🏼

Why am I writing this post then? Well, just because I didn't like it doesn't mean you might not. 😊

My conclusion on the hike to Scharnsteiner Spitze

Unfortunately, this tour wasn't really anything special. Still glad I got in a cool after-work workout. 💪🏼 So: You can do it, but you don't have to. The ruin is definitely worth seeing though! 🤩
