Almbachklamm – Gorge near Salzburg / Marktschellenberg (DE)

I'm actually very rarely in a gorge, as most gorges are a bit far away for me – but this gorge was definitely worth the journey! 🤩

Even though I'm usually more out and about in the mountains, which are right in my local area, I was absolutely thrilled with this small, exquisite gorge hike. Entry is €9 per person and you can extend the tour as much as you like. You receive a map right at the entrance and can then decide during the hike whether to simply go back the same way or choose a circular route. 🏞️

You absolutely have to watch my Reel about it on Instagram:

The hike through the Almbachklamm to Ettenberg and back

Truly fascinating: The gorge itself has 29 bridges and about 320 steps. We decided to go to Ettenberg and then take the path back again to the car park. After Ettenberg, unfortunately, a fair bit of it is along the road on asphalt, but the descent is again really great via forest paths and roots. 🌳 So, it's an option, but not a must. You don't miss much if you take the same path back instead. 😊 You can find the route we walked at the end of the post as a Komoot tour (The entrance is directly at the car park).
