Stop! I'm on holiday after all! Oh, that's right - I wanted to go to the Feuerkogel with Shaggy. I had already packed my things the day before, so all I had to do was quickly prepare the sandwiches and off we went towards Ebensee.<\/p>\n<p>The Feuerkogel is a great excursion destination, which I went to for the first time. As I'm afraid of heights, the cable car was never an option before. We were able to park right next to the valley station of the cable car. The parking options are clearly visible, so we quickly found a suitable space. We were there very early - the car park situation is definitely tighter later on.<\/p>\n<p>If you prefer to travel by public transport, it's also very easy: Ebensee is easily accessible by train, which makes travelling without a car stress-free.<\/p>\n<h4>Check out public transport right here:<\/h4>\n<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"https:\/\/verkehrsauskunft.ooevv.at\/webapp\/staticfiles\/hafas-widget-core.1.0.0.js?L=vs_ooevv&amp;\"><\/script><\/p>\n<div data-hfs-widget=\"true\" data-hfs-widget-tp=\"true\" data-hfs-widget-tp-postform=\"newtab\" data-hfs-widget-tp-dep=\"Linz\/Donau Hauptbahnhof\" data-hfs-widget-tp-arr=\"Ebensee (am Traunsee) Bahnhof\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<h3>The hike up the Feuerkogel: challenging but rewarding<\/h3>\n<p>We started near the valley station of the cable car. You can find the exact route below - I have linked the Komoot tour for you. First, we walked a few metres up a tarmac path until we reached the actual start of the hike.<\/p>\n<p>The trail is challenging and requires a certain level of fitness. For me, it was a great tour, which I was also able to do with my dog Shaggy. Most of the route leads along forest paths and rooty tracks, and there are a few small rocks to negotiate. In my opinion, the trail is not at risk of falling, but as there are 1100 metres of altitude to overcome, you should definitely not underestimate the ascent.<\/p>\n<p>Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with a fantastic alpine ambience (watch out for grazing cattle) and breathtaking views. The hike ends at the cable car mountain station, where there are also several places to stop for refreshments.<\/p>\n<p>There are many other hiking options on the Feuerkogel itself that you can tackle at the top. We decided to take the same route back down. Before hiking, check the availability of the trail and reflect on your own fitness.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Refreshment stops during the hike up the Feuerkogel<\/h3>\n<p>There are numerous places to stop for refreshments on the Feuerkogel, providing a well-earned break after the strenuous ascent. You can also find all the important information here <a href=\"https:\/\/www.feuerkogel.info\/de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on the website of the Feuerkogel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We were travelling so early that nothing was open yet. But that wasn't a problem for us as we had our own snacks with us and could enjoy the view in peace.<\/p>\n<h3>Conclusion on the hike up the Feuerkogel<\/h3>\n<p>Despite a bee sting after about 2 kilometres in my hand, it was a fantastic hike that I will definitely do again.
