Ambience and atmosphere at the Vegan Wirtin - vegan breakfast in Wels

The Vegan Wirtin restaurant is lovingly decorated in a simple and unique way. As soon as you enter, you are greeted in a friendly manner from the open kitchen counter and can already see the busy hands preparing the guests' dishes. The simple industrial style of the restaurant and the large space, furnished with relatively few tables, gives you a carefree and cosy feeling. There is plenty of space, you can chat at length and lose track of time while eating breakfast. It's best to make up your own mind about the breakfast restaurant in Wels. You can book your table directly here.

The vegan breakfast menu and what we tried

A glance at the menu reveals that creativity is the order of the day here. In addition to the great savoury sandwiches - with avocado, tofu or homemade carrot salmon, for example - there are also great sweet dishes.

Homemade waffles with apple sauce and minty fruit salad

The flavour of the vegan breakfast in the middle of Wels was an absolute 10/10. The tofu dish with the red cabbage on the bread was really good. The chive bread as a snack rounded off the whole thing. Then the warm overnight oats and - admittedly - I had to share the waffle as I was already quite full. But the vegan waffles: mega! Really tasty, and the fruit salad with it took the whole thing to another level.

Brunch options and lunch - vegan food in Wels

The Vegan Wirtin offers a variety of lunch dishes during the week and at the weekend. Today, for example, the main course was a lasagne. So if you fancy a vegan lunch on weekdays or want to go out for brunch at the weekend, this vegan restaurant in the centre of Wels is the place to be.

Service and hospitality

Can only praise at this point: extremely friendly, very courteous and hard-working staff. Ines and her team do a great job here!

Parking in Wels - Car park for the Vegan Wirtin

The Vegan Wirtin does not have its own car park. The easiest way is to use the surrounding public car parks (some of which charge a fee) or to travel directly by public transport.

How much does a vegan breakfast at the Vegan Wirtin cost?

I paid around €41 including tip. In addition to the dishes listed above, I also had two extra coffees and an orange juice. For me, the price is absolutely justified and within the price range for a proper breakfast. The quality was high, I was full and the time spent was well invested.

Conclusion on the visit to the Vegan Wirtin in Wels - the vegan restaurant in Wels

So my conclusion is - surprise - entirely positive. I've been here several times before (including for yoga and lunch) and this time only for breakfast. Therefore, a clear recommendation at this point for all vegan/vegetarian people as well as for all those who simply want to enjoy a wholesome and really good breakfast.

Because every year I try to visit the Advent market in St. Gilgen at least once. This time we made it just in time - on the last weekend of Advent. I just love the special atmosphere and the fantastic mountain panorama here. You can see the red candles typical of Advent at Wolfgangsee everywhere - they create a warm light and invite you to stroll around.

Another thing that struck me as very positive was that there are no live animals on display here - something that unfortunately still happens regularly at some other Advent markets.

The Advent market in St. Gilgen is really suitable for everyone - barrier-free access and with many different exhibitors offering culinary delights.

What to expect at the Advent Market in St. Gilgen

The Advent market in St. Gilgen am Wolfgangsee is a real highlight. It's not small, but not too big either - in short: just right. You can take a leisurely stroll up and down from the town centre to the lakeside promenade and eat your way through the fantastic delicacies.

By the way, the punch at the various stands was always particularly delicious - my recommendation: definitely the baked apple punch!

At the other stands, there were also lots of handicrafts and - of course - the little red candles, the symbol of Advent in Wolfgangsee, for sale.

The whole place was also very lovingly decorated.

Getting to the Advent Market in St. Gilgen

Getting here by car is relatively easy: we took the Westautobahn motorway to Oberwang or Mondsee (depending on the direction) and then continued on the main road to St. Gilgen.

Public transport – Free Advent rides from Salzburg

From 19 to 21 December 2024, visitors from all over the province of Salzburg were able to travel to Wolfgangsee Advent free of charge on public transport (bus lines 150, 155 & 546).

My favorite snacks & culinary highlights at the St. Gilgen Advent Market

The plant-based selection was limited, but there were still plenty of tasty treats for us - especially punch variations, of course. Here are my three highlights:

1st place: Spiral potato chips 🥔 Spiral potato crisps
Refined with garlic and paprika powder - super crispy and you could choose between the portion sizes „vü“ (Austrian for „much“) or - for the big appetite - „sehr vü“ (Austrian for „very much“).

2nd place: “Soup with a Purpose” 🍲 A delicious pumpkin-ginger soup with bread – and for a good cause: €1 per portion was donated to the Flachau food bank.

3rd place: Chestnuts from the Maroni Master 🌰 A true legend – this vendor comes back every year, and his roasted chestnuts are simply a must!

Are dogs allowed at the Advent Market?

Many dog owners ask themselves this question - understandably! I'll be honest: dogs shouldn't go to Advent markets and we didn't have Shaggy with us this time either. But if there's no other option for some families, St. Gilgen is the best place to bring a four-legged friend.

We were there on Sunday morning at 10.00 a.m. - and it was pleasantly quiet, not crowded and not too loud. If you absolutely have to take your dog with you, you'll definitely find better conditions here than at many other markets.

My conclusion about the Advent Magic in St. Gilgen

Absolute recommendation - without a doubt! The Advent market will see me again next year, that's for sure. Top punch, top snacks, top atmosphere anyway.

If you're looking for a special Advent experience with a view of the lake, an authentic atmosphere and loving attention to detail - then go for it! Muats drawig has had a mission since it was founded: to inspire and bring people out into beautiful Austria with all its great excursion and hiking opportunities. This mission is still the same and nothing will change. What will change, however, is the commitment to only mention businesses, excursion tips and leisure activities that are either 100 % vegan and actively avoid animal suffering, or offer vegan options (e.g. at restaurants) from 2026. In doing so, we are taking the step of providing high-quality contributions and actively doing something for animal welfare.

Why I'm opting for a vegan leisure blog

There is really only one motive here: I don't want to be a multiplier for non-vegan choices. In future, there will still be great tips for excursions, hiking trails, sports experiences and events - just without mentioning establishments that don't offer plant-based options. For example, I will no longer mention places to stop for refreshments by name in hiking articles if they do not offer vegan options. Of course, this does not change the usual quality of the hiking contributions.

My promise: high-quality contributions for hikes

You will continue to find inspiring hikes and impressive nature experiences on muats drawig in the future. This promise also applies regardless of whether there may be grazing cattle along the way - as is unfortunately far too often the case. If a hiking trail leads through an area with mountain pastures, this will of course be mentioned clearly and transparently. The use of such paths does not automatically mean support for this form of animal husbandry - the focus is on experiencing nature.

What will change for you?

Honestly, nothing. In fact, the last posts have already developed in this direction anyway. Old contributions are gradually being adapted to ensure future quality.

What remains the same for you?

The blog remains a leisure blog - just more consciously. You can continue to look forward to great excursion tips, hiking tours and authentic experiences. The usual quality and honest reporting will of course be retained.

Questions & answers about the new way of muats drawig

- Will you explicitly mention vegan restaurants?
Yes, absolutely! The aim is to make such companies more visible.

- What about old contributions?
These will be gradually revised or completely removed - please support me and contact me if you find an old post with a non-vegan recommendation.

- How do you deal with collaborations?
Co-operations will also be a focus of muats drawig in the future in order to be able to continue to offer the blog at least to cover costs. If you are interested in a co-operation, please contact me!

My personal conclusion on this step

This step is a clear statement. For me, there is no argument in favour of continuing to post leisure activities on my blog as a vegan - just for the sake of excursion tips - that may promote businesses that do not offer plant-based options or even cause animal suffering. Austria and its nature have so much to offer - that should remain the focus.

The hidden but sweet village of Café Blüte in Lenzing is located near the cultural centre. On selected weekends, Kristina conjures up a wonderful brunch here, the majority of which consists of vegan delicacies. An ideal place to enjoy the special ambience and fresh, regional ingredients - perfect for a relaxed start to the day!

We had been eyeing up the Dorf Café Blüte for some time. Unfortunately, there are only a few vegan breakfast places in our neighbourhood, or in Upper Austria in general - even though there are fortunately more and more. That's why we thought we absolutely had to try Kristina's brunch.

Our idea turned out to be a hit! The brunch in the unassuming Lenzing was a fantastic experience. The buffet was lovingly laid out, the selection of cold dishes was incredibly tasty and we were pleasantly surprised by the vegan brunch. There were also a few vegetarian dishes with butter or curd cheese, but the majority of the dishes on offer were vegan.

Of all the breakfasts and brunches we've enjoyed so far, this one is definitely at the top of our list of favourites.

Brunch highlights in the village parlour

For a total of around €30 per person, including tip and two hot drinks, I thought the dishes on offer were extremely fair.

From delicious spreads made from sun-dried tomatoes and vegan lemon butter to fresh fruit, vegetables, polenta, risotto, porridge and various pastries - the selection was so varied that you couldn't get enough of it.

All the pastries were also vegan and we enjoyed the morning in the cosy garden.

In addition to the brunch, Kristina also offers workshops on vegan nutrition for anyone interested.

The brunch at Dorfsalon Lenzing, or Dorf Café Blüte, is a real highlight for anyone looking for a cosy and vegan breakfast experience. The loving preparation and variety of dishes, combined with the charming ambience and friendly atmosphere, make the visit an unforgettable experience. The large selection of vegan dishes and the creative spreads are particularly noteworthy. For us, one thing is certain: this brunch is definitely one of our favourites and we can highly recommend it - not just for vegans, but for anyone who wants to enjoy good food and a relaxed time.

We always enjoy coming back to Helis Restaurant in Vöcklabruck and have almost become regulars. This restaurant is one of the best in our neighbourhood and offers really great vegan food. We love the food here and have therefore decided to write a blog post about it today. Find out more about our culinary experience and why you should definitely visit this restaurant. We fell in love with the cosy ambience and warm atmosphere and we're sure you'll love it too!

Our culinary experience at Helis Restaurant

As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were warmly welcomed by Heli and his team. The ambience was an absolute dream, with a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Heli's restaurant offers different dishes every day. Today there were two starters, two main courses and two desserts on the menu, which was presented on a large board that is brought directly to the table. The menu is ideal for vegans in particular, as most of the dishes are vegan - as was the case today, when everything was vegan.

On the menu today were:

Starters: Cream of paprika soup and salad with oyster mushrooms

Main courses: Cratinated dumplings with oyster mushroom filling, vegan chilli with homemade spelt roll (cover picture of the blog post) and pasta gratin with a colourful salad bowl

Desserts: Warm apricot cake and chocolate mousse

I opted for the oyster mushroom salad as a starter. For the main course I had the vegan chilli with homemade spelt roll (cover picture of the blog post), and for dessert we shared the warm apricot cake and the chocolate mousse. Everything was simply delicious!

As always, the service was first class and super friendly. It's particularly funny that there is no traditional menu, but that the board with the daily specials is brought directly to the table.

A day full of flavour explosions

With up to 120 participants, the event was a real highlight for foodies and those who want to become one. On our culinary journey, we were able to savour samples from a total of 8 different restaurants. From savoury dishes to sweet temptations, everything was represented that makes a foodie's heart beat faster.

Diversity that inspires

We were particularly impressed by the variety of food on offer, especially as 6 of the 8 restaurants also offered vegan samples at our request - even though some of the restaurants hadn't even considered it - hats off to the really great restaurants, who made a great effort! It was a real paradise for us as a group, as there was a vegan among us! The participating restaurants included

• Jack The Ripperl: Known for classic dishes, they prepared something vegan especially for us. I really appreciate that - thank you very much for that! 
• my indigo PromenadeWhere healthy bowls meet urban flair, here of course including vegan options and even a small gift and a voucher.
• Radius: A place that impresses with its pizzas. There are also vegan options on the menu.
• joyful: A really sweet and warm café with great furnishings (which you can simply buy)
• Beenie allday: Offers a vegan tasting. Unfortunately, and we have to be honest, the hostess was not very friendly and made no secret of the fact that she hates this day (presumably because of the crowds). Despite the delicious tasting, it just doesn't make for a good atmosphere.
• Cubus: Above the rooftops of Linz you will not only find a great view, but also culinary highlights. (no vegan option here)
• Café Many peopleA cosy meeting place for coffee and cake lovers. (no vegan option here)
• Johann's Bakery WinklerSweet and savoury baked goods that also delight vegans.

Price

A ticket for this unique culinary journey starts at €40. Given the variety and quality of the samples, this is a really fair price that made the experience unforgettable for us.

Drinks are not included - as we bought a drink everywhere we went, the price added up by the end of the day. Perhaps - and this is quite enough - free water at the tastings would be ideal. We would also like to see a small price included in the ticket.

The next event

For all those who couldn't make it this time: The Gustanavi Food Rally takes place every two months. The next event is already planned for 23 March 2024. An ideal opportunity to discover the culinary diversity of Linz and enjoy an unforgettable experience with friends or family.

An unforgettable experience

The Food Rally was more than just an event, it was an experience that we will remember for a long time to come. The opportunity to experience so many different flavours in one day and discover new favourite restaurants was simply brilliant.

Travelling by train: a sustainable choice

Thanks to our climate ticket, our decision to travel by train was not only an obvious one, but also a contribution to a more environmentally friendly participation in the Food Rally. If you would also like to travel by train, you can check the connection directly here:

PS: The Upper Austrian leisure ticket is cheaper since 2024! For € 19.90, up to 2 adults + 4 children can use public transport in Upper Austria for the whole day.

Conclusion: We'll be back!

We all agree: the Food Rally from Gustanavi is a must for anyone who wants to experience the culinary diversity of Linz. Whether vegan, vegetarian or meat lover - everyone gets their money's worth here.

The Christmas market on Spittelberg is definitely one of my favourite Advent markets. We take around 4 hours travelling time by train to try our way through the vegan variety at this Christmas market in Spittelberg. Despite the narrow alleyways and the crowds, you can enjoy a great Christmas atmosphere here - at a fair price for the individual dishes, snacks and drinks.

Eco-event Spittelberg goes Green! Vegan, organic, ecological ...

The climate is very important to us at Spittelberg. And that's why we will be organising this year's Christmas Market 2023 as an „eco-event“. A good ecological footprint, fairly traded or produced, local, regional and/or organic, vegetarian or vegan, resource-conserving and sustainable. That's what we want and what we want to offer our visitors this Advent. They will love it. For sure. Because the climate is important to us.

We can only confirm this - at least from a visitor's point of view. A really lovely and well thought-out Advent market that has something for everyone. The Christmas market on Spittelberg is a model Advent market for us, which we now visit at least once a year - despite our long journey.

From drinks and snacks to main dishes, sweets, decorations, home-made items, wooden baskets, illuminated stars and glassware - there's something for everyone!

We travelled very easily to Vienna Westbahnhof on the Westbahn. Then we took the U3 towards Simmering, where we got off at the Volkstheater. From here, it's less than a 10-minute walk to the Christmas market on Spittelberg.

Our snack marathon

We really filled our stomachs last weekend. Our aim was to make sure that the long journey out was definitely worth it.

We started with the vegan grammel & Tyrolean dumplings from Jablonski. 

Then we went to the arepas from Venezuela, where we also tried the vegan version.

Of course, there was also punch in between.

Next stop: the vegan Tiroler Gröstl

Of course, there was then a dessert - a vegan Kaiserschmarrn with stewed plums

Danach haben wir noch die veganen Waffeln, vegane Arancini und einen veganen Bosna von der Pflanzerei probiert. Es war einfach alles mega lecker und wir hatten zu zweit ordentlich zu tun um das in unsere Mägen unterzubringen, hahaha.

My summary of the Christmas market on Spittelberg

Dieser Weihnachtsmarkt am Spittelberg ist für mich ein absolutes Highlight. Egal ob vegan oder nicht – hier kommt man definitiv auf seine Kosten und kann diesen Adventmarkt auf so viele verschiedene Arten erleben. Auch ist er preislich mega – die Preise sind absolut fair.

Ein Sonniger Sonntag auf der Veganmania 2023  Vom 25. bis 27. August 2023 hatten meine Freundin und ich das Vergnügen, die Veganmania auf der Donauinsel zu besuchen. An diesem strahlenden Sommersonntag, dem 27. August, erwartete uns nicht nur herrliches Wetter, sondern auch ein aufregendes Erlebnis im veganen Street Food Style.

Although the sun was beating down relentlessly at times, the heat couldn't stop us from exploring this unique event and savouring the delicious vegan delights. We knew we were in for an unforgettable event that day, and it wasn't the first time we had attended such a vegan.at extravaganza.

Veganmania: a paradise for vegans

Veganmania, organised by the vegan.at initiative, is an annual event that attracts vegans from all over Austria and beyond. It usually takes place over a weekend, this year from 25 to 27 August 2023, and offers a wealth of vegan food, products and sustainable solutions.

During Veganmania, the Danube Island in Vienna is transformed into a true paradise for all those who value a plant-based diet and a sustainable lifestyle. Here, visitors will find numerous stalls and sales stands offering everything from delicious vegan burgers to handmade, environmentally friendly products.

The event is characterised not only by its wide range of culinary offerings, but also by its friendly and welcoming atmosphere. People of all genders, ages and backgrounds come together here to share their passion for healthy, environmentally friendly food and products.

The „Vegan Society“ association now comprises a team of around 20 members. It deals with important topics such as environmental and climate protection and, of course, vegan nutrition. With various events such as Veganmania, Veggie Planet in Linz and Vegan Planet in Vienna, they create incredibly great events for people to get information or inspiration. We have already reported in detail about the Vegan Planet in Vienna 2022!

„The Vegan Society is a very active and successful environmental protection organisation with a focus on nutrition. We inspire people for climate-friendly nutrition and food production that tastes good, is fun and at the same time good for health and animals,“ is how the organisers describe themselves with one sentence on their website.

The diversity of Veganmania: culinary delights and more

Veganmania, whether on the Danube Island or in Innsbruck, offers an impressive selection of culinary delights that will delight vegans and non-vegans alike. Here are some of the outstanding stalls and dishes you can discover during your visit:

• Veggiezz: Dieser Stand überraschte uns nicht nur mit köstlichen Dönertellern, sondern bot auch eine beeindruckende Auswahl an weiteren veganen Delikatessen.
• Jablonski: Bei Jablonski handelt es sich um einen Hotspot für leckere Gerichte, die die Geschmacksnerven verwöhnen.
• The plant nursery: Hier solltest du unbedingt den „Gustl Leverkas“ probieren, eine vegane Version eines österreichischen Klassikers, der Geschmackserlebnisse aus der Heimat verspricht.
• Carpe Diem: Hier gab es erfrischende Kombucha-Getränke die du unbedingt probieren solltest.

Die kulinarischen Highlights sind nur ein Teil des Veganmania-Erlebnisses. Während deines Besuchs kannst du auch Live-Musik genießen , Workshops besuchen , und an Live-Programmen teilnehmen . Die Live-Musik schafft eine angenehme Atmosphäre und begleitet deine kulinarische Reise. My running club, Team Vegan.at, was also represented at Veganmania and offered information on the health benefits of veganism as well as tips on how to start a vegan lifestyle.

Anfahrt – Convenient journey to Veganmania: environmentally friendly and practical

Die Anreise zur Veganmania gestaltete sich einfach und umweltfreundlich. Wir fuhren von Attnang-Puchheim nach Wien, um das Event auf der Donauinsel zu besuchen.

Unsere Reise begann am Bahnhof Attnang-Puchheim, von wo aus wir uns auf den Weg zum Wiener Hauptbahnhof machten.

In Wien angekommen, nutzten wir die U-Bahn, um zur Donauinsel zu gelangen. Zunächst fuhren wir mit der U3 bis zum Stephansplatz, um dann auf die U1 umzusteigen und direkt zur Donauinsel zu gelangen. Die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel in Wien sind hervorragend vernetzt und bieten eine komfortable Möglichkeit, sich in der Stadt zu bewegen.

Admission: Free for all

Ein weiterer Grund, die Veganmania zu lieben, ist der kostenlose Eintritt. Das Event steht allen offen, ohne Eintrittsgebühren. Egal, ob du Veganer:in oder einfach neugierig auf die vegane Welt bist, die Veganmania heißt dich herzlich willkommen.

Der kostenfreie Eintritt unterstreicht die Idee, dass eine umweltfreundliche und tierfreundliche Lebensweise für jeden erreichbar sein sollte.

My conclusion: enjoyment and criticism at Veganmania 2023 on the Danube Island in Vienna

Mein Besuch auf der Veganmania war erneut ein Genuss und bestätigte meine Liebe zu solchen Events. Die Vielfalt an veganen Köstlichkeiten begeisterte mich, und natürlich haben wir uns den Magen vollgeschlagen und sind bei der beeindruckenden Auswahl regelrecht „eskaliert“.

Dennoch bleibt ein kritischer Punkt in meiner Erinnerung: die oft „kleineren“ aber teureren Portionen. Obwohl sie es uns ermöglichen, mehr zu probieren, empfand ich die Preise als unverschämt hoch. Ein Döner für über 10€, eine winzige Pizza für 12€ und ein Hotdog für 9,50€ – das war alles sehr lecker, aber leider auch unverhältnismäßig teuer.

Insgesamt war es ein großartiges Erlebnis, das meine Leidenschaft für vegane Küche und nachhaltige Lebensweise weiter befeuert hat. Ich hoffe jedoch, dass in Zukunft die Preise in einem angemessenen Verhältnis zur Portion stehen werden.

Wir kennen Sie alle – die Fastfoodler ums Eck. Schön kräftige Burger, geniale und salzige Pommes, danach noch einen Blaubeer-Muffin mit Cappuccino. Nein, meine Rede ist heute nicht vom Mäcci, sondern vom Front Food in Linz.

Front Food lives its concept classically according to the motto: fast food rethought.

Wer also Lust auf Burger , Kebap , Bosna, Hot Dog etc. hat und dabei komplett auf Fleisch und tierische Produkte verzichten möchte, ist bei Front Food in Linz bestens aufgehoben!

The vegan fast food operator in Linz has an incredibly great and large selection of different dishes.

Angefangen von vielen verschiedenen Burger-Variationen bis hin zu Döner, Bosna, Hot Dogs, Salate, Hot- & Cold Drinks – all das komplett vegan und mit völligem Verzicht auf tierische Produkte.

Das Bestellen funktioniert entweder am Schalter oder wunderbar am Self-Service-Terminal direkt am Eingang. Man kann dann am Platz warten, bis die Bestellung abholbereit ist – dies sieht man am Info-Screen im Sitzbereich.

No - a reservation is neither necessary nor required. Simply go to the restaurant, order, sit down, enjoy and have fun. Sounds simple? It is.

Wer meine Beiträge kennt, weiß mittlerweile, dass wir mit dem Zug angereist sind Vom Hauptbahnhof aus gingen wir zu Fuß die Landstraße entlang und wenn man am Hauptplatz beim Vapiano rechts abbiegt, dann ist man auch schon fast da.

Wer mit dem Auto anreisen möchte, hat rundum diverse Parkmöglichkeiten und Parkgaragen, die man gebührenpflichtig nutzen kann.

Furnishings and style of Front Food Linz

I really like the furnishing style with the dark furniture and the decoration. It fits in perfectly with the fast food restaurant and is also appealing.

The first impression was a little gloomy and surprising, as I had imagined a completely different style. But once you sit down and take it all in, you enjoy the cosy atmosphere combined with the great food.

Staff and waiting time - how long does the meal take?

The process is very classic in the style of a fast food restaurant. Order at the counter or touch terminal and pick it up yourself. So I can't rate the staff here, as it's a self-service shop.

The time it took to order was very good - we ordered, found a seat and within 5 minutes our food was ready to be picked up.

Funktioniert alles prima!

My conclusion from the last visit

Meine Freundin hatte dieses Mal den Big Chiiesy probiert – für mich war es der Döner. Gemeinsam haben wir uns noch Pommes und Nuggets gegönnt.

Als Nachspeise gabs für mich den Heidelbeermuffin und einen Cappuccino.

The burgers at Front Food in Linz are really great - the recipe is simply ingenious and the burgers taste just as they should - really good!

The kebab I tried for the first time this time was also very good. It doesn't taste like the classic meat kebab I remember from back then, but it doesn't have to! It was really good and you savoured every bite.

Der Heidelbeer-Muffin und der Hafer-Cappuccino am Ende haben das Ganze noch abgerundet und unser Heißhunger nach deftigem Fast Food war auch gestillt.

As a colourful team of veggies and meat eaters, we set off this year for the third time to a vegan.at Event begeben. Das erste Mal waren wir auf der Veganmania in Vöcklabruck, das zweite Mal beim Veggie Planet in Linz (click here for the blog post) und nun als Abschluss für 2022 das Event der Superlative: Vegan Planet 2022 in Wien im MAK.

Egal ob Veggie, Teilzeit Veggie, Vollblut Veganer oder Fleischesser, die sich bewusster ernähren möchten – das Event bot für alle was. Zugegeben: Wir haben uns während unseres Aufenthaltes dem Essen gewidmet. Unser Ziel war es, so vieles wie möglich zu probieren und sich von den Rezeptideen inspirieren lassen.

Wer heutzutage noch denkt, „pflanzlich“ sei Grünzeug und Salat, derjenige hatte beim Vegan Planet mehrfach die Möglichkeit diese Ansicht zu hinterfragen – es war alles vorhanden – klassisches „Grünzeug“ jedoch kaum.

Approach

Vegan Planet in Wien fand dieses Jahr im MAK Wien statt – gegenüber vom Stadtpark und direkt an der U-Bahn Station Stubentor.

Thanks to our climate ticket, travelling by public transport is the obvious choice. This proved to be extremely relaxed and stress-free this time too. Especially as I was able to deal with the installation of our Mastodon server on the train. (Offtopic)

We took the WestBahn to Vienna Westbahnhof. If you don't have a climate ticket, you can with the WestBahn and the WestSuperPreis tickets, you can always buy cheap tickets (example: Wels - Vienna for €4.99)

We took the U3 underground line from Vienna Westbahnhof to Stubentor and were at the venue in just a few minutes - without having to change trains. Totally uncomplicated and perfect for country people like us.

For a small contribution towards expenses of €10 (reduced) or €15 (regular), you can pay in cash at the cash desk on site. a ticket to Vegan Planet.

Not just a ticket. But the opportunity to attend a wonderful and superbly organised event. 

My impression of Vegan Planet 2022 in Vienna

An dieser Stelle erwähne ich noch mal: Danke für das tolle Event, die super Organisation und die durchdachte Mischung zwischen Aussteller, Gastronomen und Vorträgen. Ihr schafft einen Mehrwert für alle – nicht nur für Veganer.

We enjoyed being there and are already looking forward to the next time with you! 

Unser Erlebnis war ein tolles – warum? Na weil wir uns die Mägen vollgeschlagen haben!

We tried, tested and savoured so much that we could hardly move. It was brilliant. Starting with the Currywurst and the world's best fries and as a supplement Potato pops from Mr Currywurst. Then we tried Köfte from the Hanselmann. In the meantime, each of us ate a portion of Grammel dumplings with sauerkraut from Jablonski. For dessert we had Dates, Lini's Bites, bettilicious and much more - as you can see, there were quite a few calories involved and I don't regret a single one of them!

Auch haben wir unseren Shoppingwahn aufflammen lassen und unsere Taschen prall gefüllt nach Hause mitgenommen.

My conclusion: In contrast to the other great events Veganmania and Veggie Planet in Linz this event was much bigger and more varied. All three events were very successful and definitely worth a visit.
